A community of athletes working together toward fulfillment in life after competition.
Welcome to Competitor Shift.
We are a community. We discuss, share resources, and support one another. All are welcome who may benefit from these ideas. Feel free to join in the discussions, to share your experiences as a competitive athlete. There are two distinctions that guide our community.
- Athlete V. Competitor. Being an athlete is who we are. It describes our value for, and active interest in, sports of some kind and at some level. We are always athletes. The difference is in our competitive lives. We can not always compete. It is the end of that competition that brings us together.
- Fulfillment V. Success. Our focus here is on fulfillment. That feeling we get when we complete something or accomplish a goal that is important to us. Success, on the other hand, is when we accomplish something that is of value to others, or to society as a whole. The distinction lay within our own minds. It is highly subjective.
The aim of our work together is to build a community that allows us to discuss our challenges, and share our successes. We are the greatest resource for one another, because we understand the experiences that brought us here. We ask that you participate in a positive and supportive manner. We are here to build one another up. This is not a fan site, nor is it a troll fest. Let’s band together to work through the challenges and find fulfillment in life beyond.
We hope you will join in on discussions and surveys, and find here a direction that leads to your fulfillment.
